History of
Saint Patrick
Born in Britain, Patrick was kidnapped by the Irish. When he was sixteen he was sold to an Irish slave trader. Patrick was then isolated for six years there. To keep his sanity and hope he would pray to God. After six years of praying Patrick heard a voice saying "go home".
Twenty-five years later, the Irish people sent a letter to Patrick asking him to serve the people who enslaved him. After much worry and thought, Patrick could not get the Irish out of his mind. Not long after, Patrick returned to Ireland, full of the Holy Spirit and in love with the Irish. He soon became Saint Patrick and spoke out about the horror in slavery and how it is bad. He is often thought of as the first human being to speak out against slavery.
Shortly after he died the Irish slave trade came to an end. On Saint Patrick's Day millions of people around the world celebrate the saint known as the "Doer of Justice".

"The Troubles"
the conflict between Northern Ireland and Ireland happened not long ago. Hundreds of years ago Ireland's control was taken over by England. It was during that time many people came over from England and Scotland and settled in northern Ireland. At that time, most of the settlers were Protestant, while most of the native Irish were Catholic.
In the early 1900s, many wanted to break away from the link of British rule, however in Northern Ireland their was a growing campaign to keep this link. This resulted in fighting that was not only arguing, but also involved violence between the two sides. During this time there were many deaths, injuries, many people were traumatized by the violence, and many people were but in jail. Later in the 1990's people realized that violence was not going to solve the problem. IN the end the solution was "The Peace Process" which has been going for fifteen years now. This establishment negotiated by politics to end ceasefire, command respect, and allegiance from citizens of Norther Ireland.
